Azaleas

March is the blossoming season for azaleas, and the slope in the back garden of Government House is dotted with colour at this time of the year. Every year around this time, Government House is opened to the public. People can appreciate the beautiful flowers with their family members, young and old, take some pictures and enjoy a good time together. Over the last couple of weeks my colleagues at Government House have been busy making preparations for the Open Day.

Forecasting the blossoming of azaleas and fixing the date of the Open Day to enable the public to appreciate the flowers in full bloom is both a science and an art, not to mention a bit of luck would be involved. The weather has been getting warmer lately but is still chilly sometimes. Will the azaleas at Government House blossom in time for the Open Day this weekend?
