Formal launch of the Innovation Node of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology

In this year's Policy Address, I said, "2015 is an important year for innovation and technology in Hong Kong. We saw the establishment of the Innovation and Technology Bureau (ITB) and the Academy of Sciences of Hong Kong ... The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has also announced the establishment of its first overseas Innovation Node in Hong Kong."

The MIT Innovation Node was formally launched yesterday. I would like to offer my sincere congratulations. The establishment of the Innovation Node highlights Hong Kong's status in innovation and technology and its role as a "super-connector" in this aspect.

The development of innovation and technology in Hong Kong has been delayed by a few years. However, we have made good progress since the establishment of the ITB last year. We must work even harder in the days ahead.
