Mr Lam, 51, obtained his Bachelor Degree in Economics from the University of Manchester, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is the Founder of HKGolden50, an independent non-profit policy research organisation. He was the Managing Director and Head of Hong Kong Equities at UBS Investment Bank from 2000 to 2006, and Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at UBS Global Asset Management from 2006 to 2011. He served as a Part-time Member of the Central Policy Unit from 1997 to 1998 during the Asian financial crisis.
