Mr Cheung, 60, is a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He is the Vice-chairman of the Heung Yee Kuk, Chairman of the Tai Po District Council and Honorary President of the New Territories Association of Societies. He was a member of the Legislative Council, Commission on Strategic Development and the Advisory Committee on Admission of Quality Migrants and Professionals. He was awarded a Gold Bauhinia Star in 2009.
