Indeed, there are many mature trees on the grounds that have silently witnessed the House's parade of occupants over the decades. The housekeeper's bungalow, built during the governorship of Sir Murray MacLehose (1971-1982), was carefully designed to allow a Cassia siamea (Kassod Tree) to remain in its domain.
