Cross-harbour race

After firing the starting pistol yesterday morning, I happily saw 1 700 swimmers jump into the harbour in batches to compete in the Harbour Race 2012.

Apart from providing marine navigation area and economic and livelihood benefits for the city, Victoria Harbour is also a good place for sports and recreational activities. With the near completion of all major sewage treatment and purification projects, the water quality of the harbour has been improving year by year. Building swimming sheds on both sides of the harbour can encourage people, particularly those working in Central and Tsim Sha Tsui, to get some good exercise to reduce stress, or perhaps others can do a little fishing. Why not?
