The Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point

The Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point (BCP) will be the seventh land-based crossing between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

The 11-km Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai link, including the 4.8km Lung Shan Tunnel, is a major project linking the Fanling Highway and the Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai BCP. About 65 per cent of the Lung Shan Tunnel's excavation work has been completed, and an important milestone was reached with the successful breakthrough of the southbound tube (Tunnel Boring Machine Section) last week.

The Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai BCP will be an important eastern corridor for travelling from Hong Kong to the Mainland, connecting Huizhou and Jiangxi through the Shenzhen-Huizhou Expressway; as well as Shantou, Shanwei, Chaozhou, Jieyang and other cities through the Shenzhen-Shantou Expressway.

Guangdong is our largest and most important partner in the Mainland in economic and social development.

When the Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai BCP comes into operation next year, travelling between Hong Kong and eastern Guangdong will be faster and more convenient. This will provide a broader platform for Hong Kong-Guangdong co-operation.
