The Honourable Joseph YAM Chi-kwong, GBM, GBS, JP

Aged 77. Mr Yam is currently Member of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, Distinguished Research Fellow of the Lau Chor Tak Institute of Global Economics and Finance at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Academic Advisor of the China Society For Finance and Banking. He had a public service career of over 38 years, dealing mainly with monetary and financial affairs. He was the first Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority from 1993 to 2009. Mr Yam was awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal in 2009.
